Our Story

A longtime Kansas staple, Reiserer Well Drilling got its start in the United States over 160 years ago in Missouri when George Martin Reiserer first immigrated to America. He and his pregnant wife came from the Kingdom of Hanover in what is now Germany. They arrived just two years before the Civil War began, and he drilled the first water well that we have a record of as the fighting of the Civil War broke out. In 1903, his only son, George Herman Reiserer, moved to Leon, Kansas with his own family, where his descendants would continue the well drilling legacy for the next 120 years and counting.

Jerry Reiserer

The great-grandson of George Martin Reiserer, Jerry Reiserer, was the face of Reiserer Well Drilling for the majority of the last century. He began drilling full time at 24, after leaving the Marine Corps in 1954, and continued drilling for the next 66 years, until he was 90 years old. Jerry became such a fixture of Wichita and the surrounding communities over the years, that it is hard to go anywhere in public without bumping into a satisfied customer or longtime aquantance. Jerry still contributes to the business by sharing his experiences to this day.
